Lillian Sebina Martinka

Lillian Sebina Martinka, formerly of Taylor, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at St. David’s Round Rock Hospital.

Lillian Sebina Martinka was born September 18, 1932, at home on Possum Creek in Williamson County, Texas to Vergie Bernell Page and John Desiderus Martinka. She was the third of four sisters. She graduated from Taylor High School in Taylor, Texas in 1950 and attended Southwest Texas State College, now Texas State University. Lillian was an Employment Insurance Supervisor for the Texas Employment Commission where she retired after 40 years of service. She was an early proponent for equal pay for women. Lillian’s faith was an essential part of her life. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a lover of all cats, flowers, babies, dancing, office supplies, music, and snacks.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Vergie Bernell Page and John Desiderus Martinka;

sister, Pauline Beard; sister, Mary Ann Hanacik; and the love of her life, Timothy Maresh.

She is survived by her sister Romonna Hartman of Marble Falls; nieces and nephews, George Beard and wife, Rita, of Pryor, Oklahoma, John Hanacik and wife, Vicki, of Taylor, Kent Hanacik and wife, Michelle, of Lavon, Texas, Cathy Hartman of Austin, David Hartman and wife, Angela, of Hutto, Jeff Hartman and wife, Hatti, of Marble Falls, Rebecca Krueger and husband, Mark, of Taylor; goddaughters, Kylie Ledbetter and Holli Hartman; and many treasured great-and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 29 th at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30 th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. Burial will follow at Weir Cemetery.
