Lile Stanley Matthews

Lile Stanley Matthews (known to everyone as Stan) 78, of Hutto , TX passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Stan was born in Antlers, Oklahoma on March 12, 1940 to Welton Marvin and Milla Mae Matthews .

Stan attended h igh s chool in Freeport , Texas where he met the love of his life, Ewalda Jean D ay.  He married Ewalda (EJ) before leaving to serve in the US Army in Korea .  After returning home from the service Stan graduated from the University of Houston where he received his degree in Business . Through the years Stan was a business owner as well as worked for the State of Texas in various positions.

He loved to hunt and shooting sports and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  These are the fond memories that so many have of Stan along with his infectious laughter.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents, Welton and Milla Mae Matthews and his sister , Cry stal ( Cris ) Matthews Ashley .

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years , Ewalda Jean (Day) Matthews, his children; Mark and his wife Shelly Matthews, Josh Matthews and Robin Matthews ; three grand daughters that he adored.

There will be a private memorial service held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
