Lena “Lil” Wheeler, formerly of Taylor, Texas went to her eternal home on August 5, 2017. She was 93 years old. Born to Ray and Maudie Musgrove on January 25, 1924, Lena grew up in Oklahoma City. She married Charles Wheeler of Cache, Oklahoma and they moved to Texas. They were married for almost 50 years until Charles passed away in 1990. They had three children.
Lena was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her home and loved to work in the yard taking care of her plants. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing big family dinners.
Lena liked to play games like Wahoo and dominos. Holidays were always fun at her home. When she would hear some lively music she just had to get up and dance a little bit. In earlier years she was an avid bowler and also enjoyed boating and fishing.
Lena was kind and friendly but also feisty. She had an independent spirit that her family will miss very much.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles and oldest son Jimmie Wheeler of Clyde, TX. Survivors include son and wife, Gene and Jamie Wheeler of Kenedy, TX and a daughter and husband, Trish and Robert Hutto of San Antonio, TX. Survivors also include 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Cook Walden / Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
