Lee Roy Ponkoney

Lee Roy Ponkoney, 94, a lifelong resident of Taylor died Saturday, January 26, at his home.

He was born on November 23, 1924, to Lee and Mary Ponkoney.

He attended Waterloo School in Taylor.

Lee Roy was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korea, and later served with the U.S Air Force.

He married Lillian Jane Kuban on November 25, 1947 and they had one daughter, Patricia Ann.

He worked as a self-employed carpenter and maintenance man after his military service.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed traveling.

Lee is survived his daughter Patricia, one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Ponkoney and ex-wife.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM at Providence Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1 PM at Providence Funeral Home.

Interment will follow the service at City of Taylor Cemetery.
