Lawrence E. Marburger

Lawrence Erwin Marburger (Slats), 84, of Granger, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 12 ^th , 2021.

Lawrence was born on October 29 ^th , 1937 in Jarrell, TX to Werner and Hulda Marburger.  He grew up in Jarrell, where he graduated from Jarrell High School.  He then joined the Army. After the army he worked for Griggs in Belton, building school furniture.  Upon his retirement he worked part time for his brother at HRM cabinets Inc. in Jarrell. Lawrence loved to fish and play dominoes.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Werner and Hulda Marburger; sister, Doris Tschoerner; and brother-in-law, Benny Kubacak.

He is survived by Rita Marburger, son, David Marburger and wife, Ruth; daughters, Debbie Jimenez and husband, Monroe, and Susannah Miller; 14 grandkids and 13 great-grandkids. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy; brother, Harry Marburger and wife, Gladys, brother, Wilbert Marburger and wife, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, December 16th at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd NW, Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to The Children's Heart Foundation to support congenital heart defect research.
