LauraBelle Olbrich Patschke, 93, of Thorndale, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called home March 5, 2025.
LauraBelle was born on July 3, 1931, to Oswald and Henrietta (Simank) Olbrich. She was the sixth of seven children. She was baptized as a child of God on July 26, 1931. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale and on March 25, 1945, she received the body and blood of Jesus Christ by Pastor Stelzer. Her confirmation verse was John 8: 31-32 If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
LauraBelle attended St. Paul Lutheran School through the eighth grade and then helped on the family farm. Those early years instilled in her a deep devotion to family, which remained a cornerstone of her life. After marrying Ernest Patschke on July 15, 1951, she dedicated herself to raising their two daughters Jennifer and Gayle. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Sundays were sacred, as she lovingly prepared Sunday lunch and for dinner, sandwiches were served at six o’clock sharp for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all extended family who gathered “on the hill”. Grandma’s house was a place of togetherness, where shenanigans ensued, stories were shared, cards were dealt, coupons were clipped, traditions were passed down, and memories were made. LauraBelle’s greatest joy was her family, and she embraced every role—wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend—with grace and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, parents Oswald and Henrietta, son-in-law Larry Fisher, five brothers, and one sister.
LauraBelle is survived by daughters, Jennifer Fisher and Gayle Daniell and Tommy Roberts all of Thorndale; grandchildren, Khrys Fisher of New Orleans, LA, Billie Jo Fisher of Astoria, NY, Brandon Daniell and wife Jenny of Tomball, Adam Fisher and wife Courtney of Thorndale and Derek Daniell and wife Lindsey of Thorndale; great-grandchildren Emmerson, Hannah and Jake Fisher, Cade and Caleb Daniell and Kyla and Cash Daniell; sister-in-law Charlene Olbrich of Thorndale; niece Glenda Merz and husband Ted of Thorndale; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Leslie Wuthrich, Bernice Casarez, and Regina Moreno for their compassionate care.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Roberts, Brandon Daniell, Adam Fisher, Derek Daniell, Micah Merz, Nik Merz, and Jeff Olbrich.
Honorary Pallbearers are her beloved great-grandchildren.
