Larry Decker Wilson

Larry Decker Wilson was born November 07, 1926 in Taylor, Texas. He passed away March 6, 2018 in Austin, Texas.  He was 91 years old. Larry never completed high school because he joined the navy at age 17 and fought the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II. After returning from the war, Larry married Billie Barr, and they moved to Houston. They had two daughters, Brenda Wilson and Jeano Wilson. While in Houston, Larry became part of history as he worked on the plumbing for the Astrodome.

Larry and Billie moved to Austin, where he eventually went to work for the State Plumbing Board, certifying plumbers for the State of Texas. Larry and Billie spent many a weekend entertaining their granddaughters, Shawn and Dawn. Every summer they would all take a camping trip for one to two weeks at a time, usually at Inks Lake or Lake Bastrop. Larry loved listening to live music, and he loved to talk. When his first wife, Billie, passed away, Larry met and fell in love with Annetta Jeanne Price. They were eventually married and spent many happy years together.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Sughrue, father, Samuel Wilson, brother, Bruce Wilson. His first wife, Billie Wilson, their daughter, Brenda, and his second wife, Jeanne Wilson. He is survived by his sister, Billie Giancursio, nephews David Johnson, Joseph Giancursio, Gerald (Jerry) Giancursio, neices Candice Remond Giancursio, Bridgett Deliah Giancursio, and Jennifer Lynn Santiago. His second daughter, Jeano Wilson, granddaughters Shawn Walton and Dawn Capra, great-grandchildren Anthony Capra, Derek Walton, Audrey Capra, Anamarie Capra, and Faith Walton, as well as nephews Wilbur and Larry Wilson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 -2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Providence Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Granger, Texas
