Larry Eugene Luckey was born on July 6,1950 to Lillie Mae Edwards & Jimmy Luckey in Corpus Christi, Texas. He passed away on January17,2022, peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Larry moved to Oakland California as a teenager and resided there for over 40 years. Larry loved California; however, his dream was to continue to travel the world, retire and move to Africa.
Larry worked for over 30 years in the security profession and loved his career. He loved meeting people and was a stranger to no one.
Larry was the most kindhearted man that you would ever meet. He always had a smile on his face and a hello to everyone he met. He loved his entire family and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. A tall man in statue and great man of integrity. He was a man of many talents, a poet, artist, and a photographer! He was an educated and intelligent man who had a passion for traveling the world. He loved sharing stories and beautiful pictures of the many exquisite places visited, including his recent trips to Spain and Africa.
Larry was proceeded in death by his parents; Lillie Mae Martin & Jimmie Luckey; his beloved baby sister, Rhonda Hornsby; and nephews Tory Hornsby, Artie Kimble.
Larry leaves a great legacy to cherish his memories his children; Oronde Luckey, April Clabourne (Denero Legrande); 8 grandchildren; Kimani, Onyeihla, Anniya, Zariya, Carter, Jayla, Michaela, and Mason. Sisters; Linda Luckey, Brenda Hornsby Kimble, Bernadine Luckey, and Jennifer Luckey. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many other special relatives and friends.
