Kenneth Joe Schneider,78, of Taylor, went to be with his heavenly Father Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Kenneth was born August 28, 1943, in Taylor, Texas to John and Tennie (Kuban) Schneider. He grew up with one older sister and two younger brothers. Kenneth went his first nine and a half years of school in Rogers, Texas. His family them moved back to West Taylor and he graduated from Hutto High School, class of 1961.
He married the love of his life, Patricia (Pat) Glaeser August 31, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They had 58 years together and were blessed with three sons. Kenneth worked for Slim Thompson Wholesale, Ray Pille Wholesale and his last 20 years of employment were with Nyle Maxwell in Taylor.
Kenneth had a love for music and started playing the guitar around 1960. He started a band, Ken and The Starlighters, and played dances for over 40 years.
He also enjoyed fishing on the San Gabriel River and Colorado River with his father-in-law and sons. Kenneth also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Tennie Schneider; brother, Gene Schneider; and brother-in-law, Melvin Steger.
Kenneth leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Pat Schneider. He is also survived by his sons, Kenny Schneider, Jr. and wife, Tricia, Russell Schneider, and Scott Schneider and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Brooke Clanton, Britney Chapman, Braegan Schneider, Haley Iselt, and Makenzie Schneider; five great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Schneider) Steger; and brothers, Edward Schneider and wife, Barbara, and Ronnie Schneider and wife, Phyllis.
A visitation is to be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. NW.
Funeral Mass is to be held Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 408 Washburn St.
