Kathy Johle Simcik was born in 1951 , the only child of parents Wilford and Irene Johle, in Langport, Texas. Growing up she enjoyed playing dominoes and hanging out with friends at her parents’ BBQ and bar . Kathy graduated from T hrall High School in Thrall, TX and worked at Kerr- Ban and Taylor Refrigerator Warehouse in Taylor, TX.
On March 20, 1976 Kathy married Johnnie Simcik . They loved each other very much and lived 44 happy years together on their family farm in Granger , TX . Kathy enjoyed walks every morning with her protective dog Pete and loved her ‘baby’ cat, Rory . Even though she was an amazing cook, she enjoyed trying different restaurants and foods with Johnnie.
Kathy liked spending time with friends and celebrating the feast s in Texas and California with her church and family.
If you mentioned ‘Dwight Yoakum’ Kathy’s eyes would light up and she would share her special photo album with you. She had a collection of every album Dwight ever recorded.
Kathy loved to read and learn, and she stayed up-to-date on the latest news and weather . She had pen pals from as far west as California on up to New York - some of whom she ‘ met ’ back in the 60 ’s. Her letters and cards were embellished with curlicues and stickers and written with love - they were fun to read and left you smiling . Kathy adorned her reading area with l ight and airy images of butterflies and fairies that were special to her.
Kathy had a funny sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and laugh. Her smile, laughter and sweet spirit will be greatly missed for now, but we look forward to seeing her again in heaven.
