Kathleen Marie Menges

January 20, 1955 — January 10, 2022

Kathleen Marie Menges, 66, of Taylor, passed away at her home, Monday, January 10, 2022.

She was born Kathleen Marie Leal January 20, 1955, in Austin, Texas, to parents, Felix Leal and Theresa Stone Leal. She attended Lanier High School and lived throughout the Central Texas area.

Kathy married the love of her life, Ronnie Menges, on an unseasonably warm Christmas Eve in 1986, at the home of her parents, Felix and Terry. Their three children, Jessica, Ronnie II and Sunny, were all there to celebrate this joyous occasion, as were their family. They spent the next 35 years building a happy and fruitful life together.  This includes 8 wonderful years Kat spent touching the lives of many people in South Texas, during the time in which she and Ronnie lived at the Tillman Ranch, where Ronnie currently works and resides.

Kathy was known for many things, greatest of which was her love for the Lord. She enjoyed shopping, especially thrifting. She was also known for her unparalleled cleanliness, and most importantly, her ability to always put others before herself. She had a servant’s heart and was tremendously selfless in all that she did. Kathy never met a stranger, and she was known to make friends everywhere she went.  Kathy was a “Super Grandma/Gigi” and her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. Her grandchildren brought great joy to her life, and she was truly happy when spending time with them.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Felix Leal.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronnie Menges; children, Jessica Sertuche and husband, Rick, Ronnie Menges II and wife, Tania, and Sunny Gebhart and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Garrett Sertuche, Chris Sertuche, Noah Sertuche, Isaiah Sertuche, Justin Menges, Colton Menges, and Abigail Grace Gebhart; mother, Theresa Leal; brothers, Von Leal, Bobby Leal, and David Leal; and sisters, Donna D’Abadie and Judi Caiati.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am Thursday, February 24, 2022, Shoreline Christian Church in Austin, TX.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
