Joyce Mae McNeal (Harris) was born on March 14, 1948, in Taylor, Tx to the parents of Issac and Veola Harris. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Earl Harris.
Joyce was united in holy matrimony to James McNeal Sr; to this union three kids were born, Joy McNeal, of Dallas, Texas; James McNeal Jr. of Austin, Texas; and Kristel McNeal Gilmore, of Austin, Texas.
Joyce immediately lit up any room she entered and impacted so many people. She was a joyful presence with her beautiful smile and bubbly personality. She loved her friends and family, and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Joyce is a beautiful and well-written tribute to her life and starts out in one of the most unique and wholesome ways possible -- honoring her amazing cooking skills! One by one, the memories of a beautiful life flickered and dimmed. But she continued to cherish the warm embrace of family and friends and find comfort whenever surrounded by conversation and laughter. She never stopped absorbing the love coming from those around her, and she returned it in kind. She never stopped being Joyce.
Joyce retired after 35years with Motorola (25years) Tx Dept. of Criminal Justice (10years).
Joyce departed this life on May 24, 2023, in Round Rock, Texas.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Veola Harris; daughter, Kristel McNeal Gilmore; brothers, Richard and Earl Harris; sisters, Bertha Wright, Lena Russell, and Mary Harris; nieces, Carshell Tobler, Sherry Jackson, Deborah Harris and Eula Roberson; and nephew, Dwight Harris.
