It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Domsch, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on December 15, 1937, in Granger, Texas, to Hattie (Rozacky) and Arnold Cervenka, Joyce grew up on the family farm in Granger, where she developed a strong work ethic and excelled academically at Granger High School. She married Joe Repa of Granger, and they had five children in Taylor, Texas. Later in life, she married U.A. “Sonny” Domsch, with whom she shared 30 years of wonderful marriage until his passing in 2013 in Jourdanton, Texas.
A beacon of love and strength to all who knew her, Joyce dedicated her life to her family, raising her children with endless care, patience, and wisdom. Her love extended further as the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and treasured deeply.
Joyce was a devout Catholic, known for her compassion, kindness, and humility. She had a natural talent for gardening, a gift for cooking, and an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and special. Her home was a haven of laughter, delicious meals, and heartfelt conversations—where everyone who entered felt like family. She was a steadfast source of support and guidance, always ready with a listening ear and wise counsel. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, and generosity, which will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In addition to her role as a loving mother and grandmother, Joyce was exceptionally talented with numbers. She worked for many years in business administration and bookkeeping. Her dedication to community service was evident through her many contributions. Joyce served for several years on the board of the Poteet Strawberry Festival and the Atascosa County Fair. She also played an instrumental role in the original organization of several beloved annual events in Taylor, including Taylor TIF Days, the Taylor BBQ Cookoff, and the Rattlesnake Roundup.
Joyce is survived by her children: Charles (Ellen) Repa, Donna (Rick) Connell, Paula (Steve) Garrett, Keith (Lisa) Repa, and Mark (Angela) Repa; her stepchildren: Donna Elder and David Domsch; 13 beloved grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren (and counting). She is preceded in death by her parents, Hattie (Rozacky, Cervenka) Cmerek and Arnold Cervenka; her stepfather John Cmerek; sibling, Robert Cervenka; her first husband, Joe Repa; her second husband, Sonny Domsch; and her grandson Jordan Tiemann.
Her love and light will remain with us always and not a day will pass without her loved ones thinking of her.
The family invites all who knew and loved Joyce to join them in celebrating her life on February 21st 10:00 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor, Tx for Service with Rosary. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Granger Tx. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity or cause meaningful to you in honor of Joyce.
