Josephine Villanueva Tovar (Josie), 82, was called home to the lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
Josie was born in Taylor on April 14, 1938 to Victoriano and Fidela Villanueva. Josie married the love of her life, Fabian Tovar on March 3, 1961. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor. Josie was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Josie was a beautiful, kind, and caring person who cared for her family deeply and always put God first. In her spare time, she enjoyed the out doors, watering her plants, listening to her wind chimes and music. She also loved playing bingo, playing word searches and watching the Texas Rangers play.
Josie is preceded in death by her late husband Fabian Tovar; parents, Victoriano and Fidela Villanueva; brothers, Steven, Victor, Serafin, and Paul Villanueva; sisters, Betty Alderete, Felicitas Villarreal, and Teresa Villanueva.
She is survived by her six children; John Arthur Tovar, Angela T. Trevino and husband Paul, Ermelinda T. Aguilar and husband Jose, Jaime Tovar, Lourdes T. Aguilar and husband Abel, and Lucinda Ivicic and husband Wade, all of Taylor; 10 grandchildren, Ernesto Aguilar, Yvonne Trevino (Bunny), Jessica Aguilar, Christina Aguilar, Alejandra Aguilar (Jake Ness), Nicolas Aguilar, Jacob Aguilar, Lisette Trevino (Pookie), Benjamin Tovar and Christopher Ivicic; and 4 great-grandchildren, Brandon Pachicano, Jaxon, Austin, and Cameron Ness.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Providence Funeral Home, with rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ernesto Aguilar, Nicolas Aguilar, Jacob Aguilar, Benjamin Tovar, Brandon Pachicano, and Christopher Ivicic.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jake Ness, James Luna and Celestino Robles.

Dr. Ampur Reddy. A special thank you to Elizabeth Brooks, Janie Gonzalez and Vera Fields for the special care they provided our mother and all the occupational and physical therapists who made home visits.
Due to health concerns and orders from Gov. Abbott, there will be a limit of 100 people (which includes family members and funeral home staff) as well as a face mask requirement while inside the funeral home during the visitation/rosary.
For the funeral mass, there is a limit of 40 people allowed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. If you are unable to attend, funeral services will be live streamed via Our Lady of Guadalupe YouTube Channel and you are also invited to sign the online guestbook
