Joseph Cassity

Joseph "Joe" Cassity was also known by his loved ones far and near as Voth, JoeVoth, and Vothir. Joe was 38 years old and lived in the town he loved raising his family in: Thrall, Texas. He passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

Joe was born on August 14, 1981 in Houston, Texas to Joe and Jean Cassity. He grew up with his older sister Holly and younger brother Jacob. He met his wife Mercedes in Houston, and their family was joined forever when they married on December 27, 2010. They raised their six children Evan, Celeste, Alexa, Ivan, Lucien, and Natasha together in love. Joe loved studying economics, philosophy, spirituality, theology, and anything that provoked thought. He was a natural artist, musician, and writer. He was a loving soul, with quick wit and wicked humor that you could not help but love.

Joe is survived by his wife Mercedes Cassity, his six kids Evan, 27, Celeste, 17, Alexa, 15, Ivan, 10, Lucien, 8, and Natasha, 5. He is also survived by his father Joe Cassity, his mother Jean Cassity, sister Holly Stevens and her husband Richard Stevens, brother Jacob Cassity, his mother in law Yvonne Burman, his niece and nephew Irie and Sadie Stevens, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived online across the world by a huge group of those whom he loved and who loved him. May his Discord, discussion groups, and gaming friends remember him always: Charlie, KG Guy, Shari, Lucas, Mike, Andrew, Wobbly, and so many more.

The service is this Thursday June 4th, 2020 @ 2:30 pm for the family only. We appreciate your understanding. Service is to be held at Providence Funeral Home 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. NW Taylor, TX 76574. Flowers, cards, condolences, or funny stories can be mailed or emailed to Providence Funeral Home, just be sure to include his given name. These will be included in a memory book for his family.  Visitors will be permitted prior to the family service and the music, slideshow and guest book will be available for friends to sign.
