Johnny Olguin Martinez, Sr.

Johnny Olguin Martinez Sr. peacefully went to be with his heavenly father while surrounded by his family at home on Sunday, August 30, 2020.

Johnny Olguin Martinez Sr. was born on August 3, 1950 in Bartlett, Texas to Juan Salazar and Simona Olguin Martinez Salazar. He grew up with his older brothers Pete Martinez, Robert Lee Martinez, Vincente Martinez, his younger brother Domingo Martinez, and two younger sisters Josie Yannis and Flora Salazar.

Johnny attended Jona ISD leaving in 1963 to begin his career at Laboratory Tops Inc. in 1974 that later became Durcon. After 40 years, Johnny retired. He was married to Virginia Nava Garza on August 5, 1973 at the Sts. Cyril Methodius Catholic church in Granger, Texas. Johnny will be leaving behind his six children, Virginia Segura, Sylvia Garcia, Teresa Hayes, Johnny O. Martinez Jr., Monica Woods and Joey Martinez.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Simona Salazar and his former wife Virginia Nava Garza, survived by his children Virginia Segura of Belton, Sylvia and Noah Garcia of Bartlett, Teresa and William Hayes of Killeen, Johnny and Kathy Martinez Jr. of Bartlett, Monica and Tim Evans of Bartlett, Joey Martinez of Bartlett, his grandchildren Cruz Capetillo Jr., Margarito Capetillo, Julie Capetillo, Jo-Anna Capetillo, Hermilo Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, Isabella Hayes, Myranda Hayes, Raven Hayes, Chelsea Mills, Jeremiah Martinez, Tiffany and Rey Gonzales, Victoria Martinez-Jowers, Ryan Jowers, Deanna Jowers, Virginia Garza, and twenty greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Taylor Providence Community Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020, 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery 251 Co Rd 348 Granger, Texas 76530.
