Joe W. Pustejovsky, 82, of Taylor, passed away on January 31, 2020 at his home, in the company of his loving wife and daughters.
Born in 1937 to Raymond and Elizabeth (Strmiska) Pustejovsky, Joe grew up in Granger, attending Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School and Church, and graduating from Granger High School. In 1957, he married Anne Thonig at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Taylor. They were married 62 years.
After a successful career in the banking industry, Joe embarked on a new career in advertising, ultimately opening Southwest Advertising, which he ran for 47 years until retiring in 2018. A natural salesman, he often remarked that he had never met a stranger. Joe and Anne enjoyed boating on Lake Travis, quail and dove hunts, casino trips with friends, and playing many, many games of dominos. He was an avid fan of golf and watched tournaments almost as much as he watched the stock market. The greatest joy of his life, however, was rooted in his family.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond, Richard and Ervin.
Joe is survived by his wife, Anne; five daughters and their husbands: Rebecca and Frank Blair, Theresa and Brad Kephart, Anna and John Breed, Joanne and Dennis Sokol, and Mary and Ray Toler; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Sybil, Betty, and Tracy.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with rosary starting at 7:00, at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 7, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Taylor. Interment to follow immediately after at Calvary Cemetery in Granger.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Baylor Scott and White for their care and kindness.
