Joe Fojtik

Joe Albert Fojtik, 91, of Granger, Texas, passed away April 19, 2021, at the SPJST Nursing Home located in Taylor, Texas.

Joe was born August 30, 1929, in Corn Hill (located near Jarrell, Texas). Joe was the son of Joe John Fojtik and Mary (Zrubek) Fojtik.  Joe attended Granger schools and was a life-long member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe John Fojtik, Mary Fojtik Matysek, siblings, Lydia Fojtik Jarosek (Dan), Elsie Matysek Pospisil (Joe), Joe Matysek (Lydia) Rudolph Matysek (Josie), Henry Matysek (LouEllen), Charlie Matysek, and Edwin Matysek.

Survivors include aunt, Louise Palousek, sister-in-law, Mary Jo Matysek, nephews Daniel Jarosek (Dianne), Thomas Jarosek (Tina), Bobby Pospisil, James Matysek; nieces, Diane Wright, Kathy Martin (Milt), Nancy Dueville (David), JoAnne Land (James), Linda Lentz, Monica Aplin (Mike), Roseann Mueller (Scotty) and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Joe was a farmer all his life and loved the outdoors. He loved to garden and share with family and friends. He also loved canning, baking, and cooking. Some of his most famous items were kolaches, pineapple and cream cheese pies and fried chicken. He was a great storyteller and always kept people laughing.

Joe was a champion dominos player and loved when visitors came to his home. He would greet them at the door and always sent them off with plates of food and his special wave. Joe was one of a kind. He will be greatly missed.
