Jerry Dean Fleming Sr. "Coach" of Thrall, TX, went to be with his Lord on December 21st, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Jerry was born on October 28th, 1934 in Bastrop, TX to William Curtis and Mayme McCright Fleming. The youngest of three sons, Jerry attended Smithville High School where he met and married is high school sweetheart, Evelyn Thomas Fleming. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill Fleming and Jimmy Fleming, all of Smithville, TX. Jerry excelled in athletics and received a football scholarship to Rice University. He devoted his skills to being a coach, a teacher, and a high school administrator. But most of all, he was known by his example as a Christian, a family man, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Fleming of Thrall, TX; children Dana Culpepper (David, husband) of Austin, TX, Debbie Ward (Tim, husband) of Brackettville, TX, and Jerry Fleming Jr. (Deborah, wife) of Smithville, TX; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home Chapel (807 Carlos G. Parker Blvd NW Taylor, TX 76574).
