Jeremiah (Jay) Peterson, owner of the best laugh on earth, and giver of the firmest and most sincere hugs, went home to be with God on Monday, September 30th, 2019. He had driven a custom motorcycle that he built to a greenbelt, that he loved, on the east side of Austin.
Jay was born on July 4th, 1996 in Round Rock, TX. He was born to Arthur and Sylvia Peterson. When he was 13 he was adopted by Martin and Emily Garrison. All four of his parents loved him deeply. Jay discovered motorcycles as a small boy and loved them from then on. Most of his career was in motorcycle shops, repairing and selling bikes. Jay started playing the bass guitar as a teenager, he loved music and spent many hours listening and playing. He also read thoroughly on all things spiritual, he was particularly fond of Eckhart Tolle. He loved to discuss politics, eastern religion, music, Jesus, meditation and anything with a motor. Jeremiah was a caring, bold soul that always embraced diversity and advocated for all with whom he crossed paths. He loved every living soul!
Jay is survived by his mother Sylvia Peterson, and his parents Martin and Emily Garrison, by his grandparents, Tom and Vicki Garrison, and Patricia and William Porcynaluk, by his siblings Immanuel Peterson, Bethany Johnson, Penny Landers, Akeya Porter and Kareema Boykins, by his nephews Keion Jackson, Mark Boykin, Marcel Boykin, and Alexander Porter and his niece Shanese Jackson and Milani Foley, by his Aunts and Uncles, Granada Peterson, Diserae McFann, Amy and Jordan Yeats, Jennifer and Christian Bautista, and by his cousins Maggie and Noah Bautista, Garrison, Marion Lee, and Annabelle Yeats. Jeremiah is also survived by many other relatives both domestic and abroad, who he created relationships with over the past few years. He was preceded in death by his father Apostle Arthur Peterson and his oldest brother Dyron Shepherd.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jay at St. Peter’s Church of Coupland, at 2pm on Saturday October 5th. The family suggest, if memorial contributions wish to made, to consider CASA of Travis County.
