Jeanette Marie Kaatz Young

<sub>Jeanette Marie Kaatz Young of Taylor passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018.

Jeanette was born to Monroe Julius and Anna Theresia Dvorak Kaatz on November 23, 1941 at home in Noack. She attended grade school in Thorndale and finished school in Taylor.

She worked as a school bus driver for many years before retiring from Georgetown ISD in 2015. While working as a driver she helped her daughters, Lori and Wendy, at their flower shop in Taylor for several years.

Jeanette is known for her colorfully coordinated outfits and jewelry. She enjoyed shopping for herself, her family and others. Her sister, Eva’s shop, and Beall’s were her favorites. Her niece, Geneva, would shop for her at market. She often sent Geneva on the great outfit hunt by description only.

Jeanette was a foodie and through her brother-in-law, Johnnie, she supported various food benefits. She also enjoyed “sweets” made by her family and the Kolache Shop. She loved spending time with her brother and sisters for coffee and deserts. She had a passion for flower gardening and was an avid animal lover.

Jeanette enjoyed seek and find puzzles, arts and crafts, reading her Bible and church related reading.  Her sister, Aileen and she shared uplifting readings and listening to broadcast meeting on Sundays.

She spent time at her grandchildren’s sporting events and playing with her great grandchildren.

Jeanette enjoyed staying in touch with her friends on Facebook. She uplifted others with her admiring compliments and praise.

Jeanette was a loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandma, great grandma (Mawmaw), and friend.

She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Young and his wife, Laurie of Taylor; her daughters, Lori Schwarz of Thrall, Gina Schroeder and her husband, Mitchell of Elgin and Wendy Young Valadez and her husband, Richard of Thrall.

One brother, Donald Kaatz and his wife Beth; her sisters, Patsy Quebe, Aileen Machu and husband Johnnie, all of Taylor, and Eva Bujnoch and husband Don of Luling.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jessica Schwarz Morrison and her husband James;  Neil Newman; Linlea Schwarz; Brittney Valadez Schwarz and her husband Justin; Ryan Newman and wife Arianna; Colden Young and wife Tasha; Brandon Valadez;  and Brandy  Valadez. Her great-grandchildren,  Jaden Morrison, Kylen Morrison, and Tristan Schwarz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Anna; her stepfather, Emory Waldron; brother, Kenny Kaatz; son-in-law, Kenny Schwarz; and brother-in-law, Richard Quebe.

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 1, at 2 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home.
