Jason Susan, 51, went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He passed away peacefully at Scott and White Hospital in Round Rock, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Jason Paul Susan was born on August 6, 1970 in Austin, Texas, to Johnny and Juanette Susan. He grew up in both Austin and Taylor. He enjoyed all of the friendships he made; “cruising the drag,” attending Debonaires’ dances and going to rock concerts. He married his wife, Mendi Susan (Stojanik) on February 4, 1991. Jason and Mendi were blessed with two children, Tyler and Taylor Susan. Jason worked as a Granger Police Officer for 14 years. He enjoyed putting on his badge and serving the Granger community. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed barbequing, campouts, fishing, and gardening. He loved watching football, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Jason was their biggest fan.
Jason is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Susan; brothers, Jimmy Susan and Jerry Susan; and grandparents, H.A. and Ruth Susan, and Elma Becker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Mendi; son Tyler and partner Kaley; daughter Taylor and partner Brandon; granddaughter Kinsley; mother Juanette; brothers, John Susan and wife Julie, Joey Susan and wife Kristi; father-in-law Leonard Stojanik; mother-in-law Irene Stojanik; sisters-in-law Monica Stojanik and husband Tommy Thomas and Laurie Ramirez and husband Moses; brother-in-law James Stojanik; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Taylor Brethren Church 710 Sloan Street, Taylor, Texas 76574. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Taylor Brethren Church. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery. A meal will follow the services, at the Taylor Brethren Church Fellowship Hall.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support provided to Jason over the last couple of months. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Taylor Brethren Church.
During the church service, special music will be played by Steve Raby.
Pallbearers are Chief Jess Eckard (Granger Police Department), Sergeant Tommy Thomas (Granger Police Department), Detective Randall Glasgow (Granger Police Department), Officer Joseph Rosser (Granger Police Department), Constable Paul Leal (Wilco Constable Precinct #4) and Chief Deputy Brian Olson (Wilco Constable Precinct #4).
Honorary Pallbearers are Firearms Safety Instructor Howard Kruse (Granger Police Department) and Officer Marc Gray (Granger Police Department).
