Janet Marie Hees

Janet Marie Hees, 71, of Cameron, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Janet Marie Hees was born on March 3, 1952 in Pasadena, TX to David and Patricia (Wolfe) Armelli.  She grew up in Pearland with her younger sister Dona (Armelli) Coppedge.  Janet graduated from Pearland High School in 1970, and attended Southwest Texas State University for 2 years before transferring to the University of Texas in Austin where she graduated with a degree in Elementary education in 1974. Janet would go on to earn a Master of  Education from Texas A&M University in 1978.  Janet married Kenneth Hees on July 21, 1973 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richland, T X.  Kenneth and Janet had 2 children, Randall and Sarah.  Janet was an elementary school teacher for 39 years until the time of her retirement.  In her later years Janet and Kenneth built their dream house in Cameron, TX where she took on her new career as ranch hand and cattlewoman.  She was a dedicated Christian wife, mother, Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader, and grandmother. Janet’s love and kindness was felt by everyone she met and she will be missed by all.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents Dave and Patricia Armelli.  Janet is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Hees; children Randall (Christi) Hees and Sarah (Clay) Provence; 4 grandchildren Kevin and Sophia Hees, Claire and Gwyn Provence; sister Dona Coppedge, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless students.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday,  September 28, 2023 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX.  Funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 am on Friday,  September 29, 2023 at St John’s Lutheran Evangelical Church (17701 Cameron Rd, Pflugerville, TX 78660)
