James Daniel Cargill

James Daniel (JD) Cargill Jr., 77 of Davilla passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020.

JD Cargill was born on January 15, 1943 in Davilla to James and Lillian Cargill.  He grew up with three sisters, Margie Johnson, Billie Ritter and Maydell Watson.

JD graduated from Sharp High School in 1961 and later married the love of his life Patricia Ann Davis of Davilla on January 24, 1970. They were married for fifty 50 years and had four children: James Daniel III (Jamie) Cargill, Melissa (Missy) Kaye Pajestka, Jason Trey Cargill and Justin Aaron Cargill.  He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until he retired in 1998.  During his retired years, he spent time gardening, ranching, fishing, doing word search puzzles and taking in a couple of western movies or books.  Most of all, he cherished and loved spending time with his children, grandkids, and great grandkids.

JD was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margie Johnson and is survived by his loving wife Patty, children: Jamie and Deidra Cargill of Davilla, Missy and John Pajestka of Holland, Jason Cargill of Davilla, and Justin and Michelle Cargill of Holland and eleven grandchildren; Keith and Pansy Pajestka of Holland, Kaitlyn and Jake Arnold of Holland, Matthew Pajestka of Holland, Mckenzie Cargill of Davilla, Tanner Pajestka and Harlee Haley of Holland, Chelsea and Josh Allen of Rosebud, Chad Pajestka of Holland, Tucker Cargill of Davilla, Colton Cargill of Holland, Haylie Pajestka of Holland, Jaiden Cargill of Holland, and four great grandchildren; Pace and Preece Pajestka of Holland along with Everly and Everett Arnold of Holland.

Due to COVID, masks are required for all visitation and celebration of life attendees.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to the Davilla Community Center, Davilla Baptist Church or Davilla Cemetery Association at PO Box 101 Davilla, TX 76523.
