James L Brinkmeyer

September 25, 1929 — November 23, 2017

On November 23 rd 2017, James L. F. Brinkmeyer was called home to be with our Heavenly Father.

On September 25 th 1929, James was born to Fritz Brinkmeyer Jr. and Louise Wolf in Thrall, Tx. He was baptized on March 2, 1930 at St. Johns Church in Thrall. He was confirmed on March 6 th , 1955. He married the love of his life, Ruth Rosalee Prinz at St. Johns Lutheran Church as well. They had two children, a son, Brian Dudley, and daughter Gay Lynn.

James was proceeded in death by his parents, Fritz and Louise Brinkmeyer and stepfather, Albert Schroeder. His father and mother in law, Hildo and Martha Prinz. His only daughter Gay Lynn, and his wife Ruthie Rosalee.

He graduated from Taylor High School in 1947. He was then drafted into the Army in January of 1954. He was employed by the Taylor Branch of the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 32 years. He was a commander of the American Legion Taylor Chapter, was a volunteer fireman for 17 years in Taylor and surrounding areas, and President of the Ex Letter Carriers Association. He and his wife Ruthie led many a Grand March for numerous family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved wood crafts. He was a Luther League Sponsor from 1957-1960 and also served two terms on the Church Vestry.

He and Ruthie loved to go to the Debonaires dances and watch their son Brian play the drums and would two step and waltz the night away.

He was his grandsons biggest fan in whatever extra curricular event they were involved in.

He is survived by his son Brian, and wife Camille Walker Brinkmeyer, two grandsons, Noah James, Rex Brian Brinkmeyer and wife Julie Rohlack Brinkmeyer and great grand daughter Ava Marie, all of Taylor.  Sisters Gladys West of Austin, Shirley Evans of Taylor, and Jennifer Rosas of Round Rock and brother, Marvin Brinkmeyer of Pflugerville.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery
