Jackie Lee Burton, 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Thrall, Texas. He was born in Thomas, New Mexico on July 1, 1935 to Leo Burton and Dorothy Burton.
Jack was raised in San Jon, New Mexico and graduated high school at San Jon High School.
Jack worked for several companies throughout his life. His first job was with El Paso Natural Gas in El Paso, TX. He ended his gas company career with New Mexico Gas Company in Roswell, New Mexico. While in Roswell, he was the President of the Optimist Club and other various organizations. After retiring from the gas company, he and his family moved to Austin, Texas where he worked for W.L. Gore and later retired in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lajuana Dolores Burton. His children Leland A. Burton and his wife Lisa M. Burton, his daughter Kathy J. Carter and husband James A. Carter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Logon A. Burton, Devyn R. Carter, Aryn L. Carter and Lauren M. Montes.
His Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home, Taylor, Texas.
