Irene Ida Wilhemina Conn

Irene (Randig) Conn, age 85, of Taylor passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Georgetown. She was born in Taylor on Dec. 15, 1934, to the late Alvin and Ida Randig.

Irene resided in Taylor all her life. She retired from Safeway and Apple Tree grocery stores where she worked for 32 years. Irene’s greatest joy was taking care of her family which she loved very deeply. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them any chance she got.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Thomas (Tom) R. Conn, Sr, her parents and brothers, Alvin Randig Jr. and Raymond Randig.

She is survived by her twin children, Barbara Johle of Taylor and Thomas Conn, Jr. and his wife Charity of Bastrop.  One sister, Doris Nord of Georgetown. She was blessed with six grandchildren and their spouses, Andy Conn, Jennifer Taylor (Matt), Mark Johle, Laura Garnett (Jack), Courtney and Taylor Stinson. Also, four great-grandchildren, Jack Taylor, twin granddaughters Beth and Leah Taylor and Hayden Garnett.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 19, from 1-5 PM at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.  The celebration of life service will be Monday, July 20 at 10:00 AM at Providence Funeral Home. Masks will be required along with social distancing. Live streaming of the services will be on the Providence Facebook page. Burial will at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are Andy Conn and Brian Bonnet.

Pallbearers will be Jack Garnett, Larry George, Mark Johle, Jimmie Sheppard, Kevin Randig and Matt Taylor.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Legacy at Georgetown and Resolutions Hospice for the love and care they shared with our mother.
