Herman Lee (Jim) Lovelace, 77, of Davilla, passed away on Monday, January 03, 2022 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas after a short illness.
Jim was born on November 06, 1944 to Tommy Hampton Ayers and Margaret Dave Lovelace in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Jim married Esther Marie Davis Asbury on April 07, 2001 in Davilla Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Jim worked as supervisor of various paint construction companies until his retirement in 2007.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Sandra L. Quezada.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; his daughter, Teresa A. Severson; grandchildren, Natasha Holcomb and spouse Eric, Amanda Nese and spouse Dan, and Kaven Quezada, all of Tennessee; great grandchildren, Alexandria Holcomb, Elaina Holcomb and Isabelle Holcomb of Tennessee. He also leaves behind a brother, James T. Balwin of Taylor, Texas.
Jim is also survived children Melanie Robin Canava and spouse Noe of Holland, and Christopher Isaiah Asbury of Davilla; grandchildren Alex, Phillip and Ezekiel Canava of Holland, Tristin Asbury and Nicole of Holland; Julia and Abigail Asbury of Davilla; great grandsons Greyson and Hendrix Asbury of Holland.
Jim loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, driving his tractor, watching movies on his laptop and taking care of his Yorkie Poo, Cookie.
Services will be Saturday, January 08, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Davilla Baptist Church with burial in Davilla Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 07, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Alex, Phillip and Ezekiel Canava, Tristin Asbury, Zachary Mummey and Larry Wiley.
