Henrietta Marion

January 19, 1955 — July 18, 2021

Henrietta Marion passed away July 18, 2021, at the age of 66.  Henrietta was born to Uriah and Mattie Wesley in Rockdale, Texas on January 19, 1955.  She attended Rockdale Public Schools. Henrietta confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and united with Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Rockdale and later after moving to Taylor, TX, she united with Allen Chapel in Taylor.  She married Marvin Marion in February of 1971 and to this union two young men were born, Clifton Marion of Hutto, Texas and Brenton Marion of Austin, Texas.

Henrietta was employed by Intercraft of Taylor, and in later years continued a long career in working for convenience stores.  She worked in Hutto, Taylor, Round Rock, Thorndale, Circleville and Thrall.  She made many friends and never met a stranger.  The public affectionately called her “Miss Henri.”

Henrietta’s home was always open to friends and those friends became family.  She was always ready and willing to hear what everyone had going on and especially the people she met in the stores.  Her favorite spot was her front porch and people were always stopping by to join her.

She will forever be in our hearts as she fought a good fight with spirit and grace.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons Clifton (Michele) and Brenton (Amanda); four sisters Alice Dykes of Temple, Texas, Gladys Clary of Rialto, California, Effie Jenkins of Cameron, Texas and Linda Jackson (Donnie), of Taylor, Texas.  Seven grandchildren; Kyree Marion, Kayvon Marion, Keyshon Marion, Damiera Marion, Daejah Marion, Markus Marion and Ann Karen Alvarez (Alex) and one great-grandchild, Kealan Alvarez, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family of Henrietta Marion wishes to express their greatest appreciation for the love and sympathy shown during this time of sorrow. Your prayers, phone calls, food, and other acts of kindness will always be remembered.

May God richly bless and keep you.
