Helen Martha Stefek was called to the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2020. She was born on August 1, 1935 in Granger, Texas to Lad and Hattie Stuchly. Helen was the oldest sibling of 10 children raised in a farming community, loving the outdoors and nature. After graduating high school in Granger, Helen went on to obtain a degree in business and worked at the City of Taylor for seven years. After about a year of courting, Raymond James Stefek swept her of off her feet near their homes at Friendship, Texas and they were married 60 years. Helen had an extraordinary gift for oil painting, quilting, and sewing. Helen made dozens of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses for family and close friends. Everyone called on her for her expertise with canning and cooking skills. She was revered for her pickles and okra, and usually caught the biggest fish on every trip to Stigall’s lake. Helen had the most gorgeous blue eyes and a beautiful smile that would light up a room. Helen was the kindest, most loving, pure hearted woman. Everyone whomever knew her said she was an angel sent from Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lad & Hattie (Martinka) Stuchly, two brothers, Daniel and Eugene Stuchly. She is survived by her husband Raymond, 6 children, Elaine & Alvin Roznovak, Mike & Dawn Stefek, Greg & Tina Stefek, Sandra & Mitchell Caffey, Terry Stefek & Tiara Harris, Raymond & Jessica Stefek. Dewayne & Paula Martin and T.J. Marshall. Numerous grandchildren including Crystal Stansizewski, Jennifer Bullock, Sabrina Stefek, Adam Roznovak, Tyler Stefek, Tahlor Stefek, Madison Stefek, Tommy Hidrogo, Hannah Stefek, Hayden Stefek, Alyssa Stefek. Great Grandchildren include Avery Stansizewski, Caleb Stansizewski, Landyn Bullock & Grayson Roznovak. Her four sisters and four brothers: Bernice Jezisek, Mina Stuchly, Bernard Stuchly, Irene Wendland, Raymond Stuchly, Virginia Knapek, Bobby Stuchly, and Joy Michalek. Pallbearers are Adam Roznovak, Tyler Stefek, Tommy Hidrogo, Hayden Stefek, Alan Stefek & Robert Michalek.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25,2020 with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the funeral home followed by interment at the Taylor City Cemetery.
