Helen Jean Carson

May 23, 1936 — November 12, 2020

Helen Jean Wendland Carson, 84 of Hutto passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2020, surrounded by family.

Helen was born May 23, 1936 in Taylor to Walter and Helen Wendland, she was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Hutto High School in 1954. Helen married David L. Carson in 1978 and was happily married for 42 years.

Helen always found a way to show strength and love to those around her. She never lost her faith in the Lord, cared for others, and was always there to show comfort in times of need. Helen retired from TXDOT after 29 years of service. She had a green thumb and loved to take care of her plants.  Helen loved to attend Estate Auctions and always found an antique she needed to take home with her. Helen took joy in cooking sweets for her family and often loved to eat them before her meal. Helen also enjoyed Round Rock Donuts and did not miss an opportunity to pick up a dozen or two when she was in Round Rock.

Helen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Taylor for decades and was committed to serving the Lord through her church. Her health prevented her from attending church in recent years, but she kept in contact with several members of the church.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Glen and Kenneth Wendland, sister Joyce McFarlin.

Helen is survived by her husband David L. Carson, son Wayne Angell and wife Cindy Angell; grandchildren Jayson Angell and wife Ellen Angell of Georgetown, Melissa and husband Cody Welch of Round Rock, 4 great grandchildren, Gianna and London Angell, Benjamin and Emma Welch, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews

Helen will be remembered for her big heart, sense of humor, and her smile.

The family would like to thank Chanda Luna and Maria Nario with Texas Home Health Care for their exceptional care of Helen in her final days. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in the name of Helen Carson to the American Heart Association or Immanuel Lutheran Church of Taylor.
