Harvey John Shirk, Jr.

Harvey Shirk Jr. passed away at the age of 80 on January 18, 2018 at the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Round Rock, TX.

Harvey was born November 3, 1937 in Bogalusa, LA, but spent most of his childhood growing up in Brownsville, TX.  He graduated from Texas Tech University and then served four years in the US Army.  In 1968, he married Patricia Shirk and in 1970 they moved from Houston to Taylor.  They had one child (Michael) and Harvey worked at Laboratory Tops in Taylor for 35 years.

Harvey was a proud and devoted husband, father and grandparent.  He loved to travel and was an avid sports fan.

Harvey is survived by his wife Pat, son Michael and wife Marcy, and two grandchildren, Tori and Adam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Sr. and Wilma Shirk.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.  A celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 22, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor.
