Gilbert William Shiller

Gilbert William Shiller, 93, of Taylor, Texas, went to heaven on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Falcon Ridge Rehab, Hutto, Texas. He was born April 9, 1925 in Thrall, Texas to Will and Annie Shiller.

Gilbert lived his life in Thrall, Waterloo and Taylor, Texas. He loved to fish, was an avid gardener and precise woodworker both when he worked and his home life. He loved to play dominos with his friends and family. He was a lifetime member of Taylor Brethren Church in Taylor, Texas. Gilbert was also a member of the Beyersville SPJST.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Sadie and Edwin Turek; brother and sister-in-law Leon and Lydie Shiller; brother-in-law Delmore Stasny; sister-in-law Bennie Stasny.

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Demetra Shiller; daughters Gloria Wuthrich (Mike), Karen Richter (Randall), sons Randy Shiller (Molly) and Larry Shiller (Beverly).

Grandaughters Melissa Smith (Richard); Tamara Alcoser (David); Randa Shiller (Chris Brandt) and grandson Bryan Wuthrich (Sherry). Great Grand Children Allison Wuthrich; Jabin, Peyton, and Khloe Alcoser; Pepper and Amelia Brandt; great great grandson Jaxon Wuthrich; brother-In-law John Stasny and sister-In-law Janie Stasny. Nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Texas Home Health and Hospice services, especially to the 2 special Angels, Chanda and Marleney, that were sent to both Gilbert and Demetra to travel this journey with them. Also, staff at Falcon Ridge Rehab for their care and support for the last 2 weeks.

Gilbert’s greatest joys were his family and friends. He never knew a stranger, always had a smile on his face and love in his heart. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
