Garry Ray Laffere,74, of Thrall passed away at Silver Pines Nursing Home in Bastrop on Saturday, April 17,2021.
Garry was born on August 2,1946 in Taylor, TX to Herbert C. and Ida (Artieschoufsky) Laffere. He had one brother. Garry graduated from Round Rock H.S. and then joined the military shortly after graduation. He served 3 years in the United States Air Force and talked most often about the time he was able to spend in Japan. Soon after his discharge in 1969 he met his wife, Marilyn (Jones). They were married in May 1972. He held many jobs during his work career mostly at car dealerships as an administrative assistant. After retirement he spent most of his days watching old westerns and listening to polka music.
Garry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn, brother, Harvey Artieschoufsky, 2 sons Stephen Ray and Andrew Paul.
Garry is survived by 2 children Ray (Angela)Cummings and Karen Price. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Kacy, Stephen, Emily, Preston, Colby, Connor, and Hannah, and two great grandchildren Brooklynn and Maverick.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, April 22nd at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday April 23rd also at Providence Funeral home with burial being in the Taylor City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans, FBC Thrall or to the Stephen Laffere scholarship fund at Thrall HS.
