Freddy Lee Elms, 57 of Thorndale Texas gained his well-deserved wings on Tuesday February 4, 2025.
Fred was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on December 14, 2024. Fred, Becky, Jack, Justin, Shay and his close friends banded together looking cancer square in the face spending the next 52 days side by side.
Fred was born and raised in Central Texas. His childhood and moral foundation was influenced by his beloved grandparents Thomas and Merle Elms. They taught Fred to be a man of integrity and compassion. He took the charge and lived everyday based on the values instilled in him. Fred met Becky, the love of his life at an early age. He pursued her earnestly and finally won her hand in marriage on May 22, 1993. Over the next 31 years of marriage, Fred and Becky painted a beautiful life together. They owned and operated ArrowHead Moving for some 25+ years. They raised many fine horses, some good dogs and built a beautiful home together just outside of SanGabriel Texas. While they achieved so many things throughout their life together, everyone knows their greatest joy was found in their sons, Jack and Justin.
Fred liked almost everything (besides the democratic party, tornados and vegetables). He liked a good solid color foundation bred horse, watching the cowboys play football and a rare steak. He enjoyed spending time with his friends. It didn’t matter if it was playing golf, shooting skeet, roping, BBQ’ing, playing a game of spoons or hand of poker. He was always up for a good time. Fred was a hard worker. Every day of his life, he got up and faced the world with pride.
Fred Elms was the kind of man that made the world a better place. He was humble and genuine. He was strong but gentle. A loyal husband, a proud father, a true friend and by the grace of God, a doting grand-daddy to his new granddaughter Wrenlee Ann.
