Graveside services for Frank E. Martinets, Jr., 93 of Taylor, Texas will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Granger City Cemetery in Granger, Texas. A time of visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas.
Frank E. Martinets, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2018. He was born in Granger, Texas on November 04, 1924 to Frank, Sr. and Lydia Martinets.
Frank graduated from Granger High School in Granger, Texas. He also attended and graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
Mr. Martinets proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He then married the love of his life, Jean Goss and was married 63 years. Frank was a rural mail carrier in Granger, Texas for 30 years and during that time he was Vice President of Altex Oil Company in Denver, CO. He also served as oil consultant on numerous drilling sights.
He was a devoted Christian and a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Granger, Texas including serving as Sunday School teacher for many years and was called upon many times to serve as a lay preacher. He also was a member of First Baptist Church of Taylor, Texas. For many years, he was an active member serving in leadership of the Granger Masonic Lodge.
Frank’s greatest treasure in life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was deeply loved and will be missed.
Mr. Martinets is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Martinets and his parents, Frank, Sr. and Lydia Martinets. Two brothers, Dan Martinets and Darvin Martinets.
Frank is survived by his three daughters, Pam Taylor and husband, Gordon of Pflugerville, Texas, Peggy Marek of Georgetown, Texas and Paula King of Little River, Texas. Five grandchildren, Michelle Back, Ben Taylor, Shelley McGahey, Brandon Marek and Amy Sexton. Seven great grandchildren, Ashley Campos, Lilliana Back, Cason Back, Madelyn McGahey, Jacob McGahey, Mason Herbrich and Payton Herbrich. A niece, Beverly Martinets and nephew, Darvin Martinets, Jr.
Providence Funeral Home in Taylor is in charge of arrangements.
