Francisco (Frank) Lerma, Sr., age 79 of Taylor, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas after a brief illness.
Frank was born on September 29, 1940 to Carlota and Francisco Lerma. He married Hilda Torres on January 12, 1963. Frank was a graduate of William Adams High School in Alice, Texas. As a young man, Frank enjoyed boxing, where he was a Golden Glove champion. He worked for Alcoa Aluminum for more than thirty years where he was also a volunteer fireman and safety inspector. Frank loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved watching football, reading the newspaper, and keeping up with current events.
Frank is predeceased by his parents; brothers Rolando Lerma and Adrian Lerma; sister Azucena Torres; and daughter, Judy Balderas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hilda; sons Frank (Mary) Lerma, Jr., Rudy (Luisa) Lerma, and Eddie (Madeline) Lerma; sister Micaela Zepeda; brothers Dionicio Lerma and Isabel Lerma; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2500 Limmer Loop, Hutto, Texas on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
