Evelyn Carolyn Schaefer, age 79 of Taylor, went to be with her Lord last Friday, Jan. 5, 2018; she was born April 9, 1938.
Evelyn retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety but continued to work for Round Rock Independent School District where she loved assisting children with special needs. But, most of all, she was known by her example as a Christian, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, watching television, gardening, eating Kolache’s and drinking Dr. Pepper. Evelyn felt most complete when she was helping others and her life motto was:
For a happy life you need three things:
Evelyn Schaefer was preceded in death by parents Minnie and Richard Polzin and brother Richard Polzin Jr. of Taylor Texas. She is survived by her son Ronald Schaefer (Ann, wife) and daughters Pamela Moore, Karen Jahn (Louis, husband) and Sharon Dill (Roddy, husband), ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Baylor Scott & White in Round Rock, Texas for their dedicated attention and care for her during her last few weeks.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Funeral Services will be Friday, Jan 12, 2018 at 2pm at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow after at Taylor City Cemetery.
