Evelyn Helen Schwarz

May 24, 1927 — May 23, 2022

Evelyn Helen (Zamorsky) Schwarz of Thorndale, Texas returned home to her Heavenly Father
on May 23, 2022. She passed away peacefully.
Evelyn was born in Taylor, Texas on May 24, 1927 to Stanley and Albina Zamorsky. She had
one sister, Albina, and five brothers, Willie, Bennie, Albert, Joe and Eugene.
Evelyn grew up in and around the Hare/Laneport area in Williamson County, Texas. She
attended Hare School and then proceeded to Thrall Schools. After her school years, and after the
young soldiers of the day began returning home from WW2, Evelyn found
herself being courted by a rambunctious, Navy soldier and airplane pilot by the name of Arthur
Schwarz. After a few years of courtship, Evelyn had definitely found her lifelong pilot and she
and Arthur married on December 23, 1948.
Evelyn and Arthur started their married lives together continuing in the family farming tradition
and it was not long before the first of five sons joined into this young family. Phillip was born in
1949, Mike came in 1953, Glenn in 1958, Kenny in 1961 and lastly James in 1967. With the
brood complete, Evelyn was the quintessential homemaker of that day and age. She and Arthur
instilled all of the qualities of hard work, fairness, and faith that is to this day the foundation of
the family.
After Evelyn had all of her children raised and on their own, she then took her first job outside
the home. She fell right into a position which required no training as childcare worker at
Seventh Street Daycare in Taylor for many years. Also, during this time of her life, she and
Arthur loved nothing more than having completed each of their days work and joining up in the
evening to "go for a drive”. The drive almost always included riding out to the country to check
the crops. After being satisfied that all was in order, the two of them would head to Laneport or
Gifford's for a cold beer and the domino games with old friends would commence.
In April of 2008, Evelyn lost her pilot and the love of her life Arthur after 59 years of marriage.
She then took the opportunity in the years after to take a little time for herself and deservedly so.
Most of her free time was spent accompanying her boys and their families in any multitude of
events. The grandchildren were many, and as their families began to grow, so did the list of
activities. Even at this time, she was never far from a good domino game and had a set of friends
that met a few times a week to play at various local places.
Evelyn was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran church in Thorndale, Texas. She loved her
church and helped to instill in all of her children and grandchildren the importance of faith and
the commitment to Christ.
Evelyn was preceded in death by husband Arthur; two sons Phillip and Kenneth; daughter-in-law
Donna; grandson Jason and all six of her siblings. She is survived by her son Mike Schwarz of
Bryan; son Glenn Schwarz of Thorndale; son James Schwarz and wife Rochelle of Georgetown;
