Eliza Alvarez

Eliza G. Alvarez August 10, 1923 – March 19, 2019

Eliza G. Alvarez, 95 was called home by our Heavenly Father on March 19, 2019. Eliza passed away in her Taylor home surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother to her 10 children; she tended to every aspect of their lives and also helped care for her grandchildren. She was a self-taught cook with excellent cooking skills and her food was enjoyed by many. Eliza was also a very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing when she could find time to do so. But one of her favorite hobbies was tending to her plants; you could often find her in the garden.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fidel R. Alvarez, son Santos G. Alvarez Sr., daughter Cristina Alvarado, son-in-law Manuel C. Hernandez, and beloved grandsons, Santos G. Alvarez Jr. and Jonathan Edward Nieves.

Eliza is survived by 3 sons, Alejandro, Genaro and Agustin and 5 daughters, Julia, Lena, Andrea, Luisa and Frances, 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in California, Indiana and Texas.

The family would like to express great gratitude to Texas  Home Health Hospice for the care they provided for our beloved mother.
