Eleanor Annie Cuzzort

December 29, 1940 — August 29, 2019

Eleanor Annie Cervenka Cuzzort, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on August 29 th , 2019 after a nine-year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome with 5q Deletion progressing to AML Leukemia.

She was born weighing less than four pounds on December 29, 1940, in Taylor, Texas to Frank and Annie Cervenka. She married her soulmate and companion, Harvey Walker Cuzzort, on March 9 th , 1959. This year they celebrated 60 years of marriage with family and friends.

Eleanor loved her family beyond words. Her hands and body were rarely still, fulfilling hers, as well as others, dreams at any given opportunity. Her skills and talents were limitless. Her two-acre vegetable gardens were for her family’s taking and a meal was always in the kitchen when you walked in her door.  A master seamstress, she took pride in sewing for family and friends. Her carpentry skills would challenge most in the trade with an eye for decorating and design. Being her loved ones’ provider and protector, suited her servant heart.

Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Wesley, Charlie, and Frankie Cervenka; and sister Lydia Miller.  All of these she loved deeply.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Harvey; sons, Rickey Wayne, James Lee, and Paul Allen; grandchildren, Reggie Cuzzort and his wife Megan, and Nicole Brinkmeyer and her husband Max; great-grandchildren, Reagan Cuzzort, Maggie Cuzzort, Brayden Painter, and Brooklynn Painter; sisters, Janie Stasny, Ann Preusse, Mary Ann and husband John Bielss, Sr., and Ella Mae and husband Rick Beaver; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Cervenka and Ruby Cervenka, and 26 nephews and nieces and extended family.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, September 14 th , 2019 at 3:30 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Fellowship, food, and refreshments will immediately follow the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
