Elda Marie Heselmeyer

November 8, 1916 — July 10, 2021

Elda Heselmeyer died on July 10, 2021 at the age of 104. Elda was born November 8, 1916 in Taylor, Texas to Gus and Ella (Wuthrich) Zeplin. She was baptized and confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Wuthrich Hill and graduated from Taylor High School.

On November 2, 1938 she married Willie Heselmeyer. They were happily married seventy-seven years, separated only temporarily by his death in 2016. Elda and Willie lived and farmed in the Taylor area all of their lives and were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1939.

Elda was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Elmer Zeplin, her son, David Heselmeyer, and her great-grandson, Brock Seggern.

She is survived by her son Kenneth and wife Rose Lee, daughter-in-law Patricia Jones, grandsons Scott Heselmeyer and wife Amanda and children Kirsten and Preston, Ken Allen Seggern and wife Coleen and son Jacob, and Clayton Seggern and wife Renea and children Coleman and Chelsea.

The family would like to extend its most sincere gratitude to Mary and Ben Lefner, Sylvia Kaser, Cindy Scruggs, and Brooke Selby, who helped provide outstanding care to Willie and Elda in their last few years together.  Following Willie’s death, Elda found great joy in living at The Delaney in Georgetown, and the family would also like to express its gratitude to the entire staff at The Delaney who loved and treated Elda as family through her final years.


Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, followed by services at 10:00 a.m., to be officiated by Rev. Dr. George R. Qualley, with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery.


Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 401 West 7th Street, Taylor, TX 76574; or to the charity of your choice.
