Edmond Louis Lefner

Edmond Lefner, loving father and grandfather was called to the Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at his home at the age of 83. Born on August 10, 1936 in Taylor to Louis and Louise Lefner.

He met the love of his life, Rosalie, while working at his first job at Diamond Inn. They later married on August 18, 1962. Though he enjoyed his time at Diamond Inn, and oh, the stories he could tell, he made his career working as a welder for Austin Independent School District until his retirement after 41 years. Outside of his career his passion was making music with his accordion and dancing to Polkas. Every deer season was spent hunting the mountains of Colorado with friends and family. However, once the years got along, his spare time with friends turned to bus trips to the casinos. But most of all, the light of his life was spending time with his grandchildren on the farm. His grandkids will remember feeding the cows, fishing in the ponds, hunting dove, picking vegetables from the garden, and fixing and riding tractors with their Popo.

Loved ones that went before are his parents, brother, Alvin Lefner, and wife Rosalie (Strmiska) Lefner. Loved ones that will miss him dearly include his 3 sons and their wives, Clayton (Patty), Michael (Kimberly), Stephen (Lynsey), 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Mladenka, James Lefner, Claire (Cameron) Berry, Brycen Lefner, Weston Lefner, 1 great-grandchild, Adelida Berry, 5 step grandchildren and dear friend, Barbara Raesz.

Come and go visitation will be Friday, April 24 from noon to 5pm at Providence Funeral Home. Private graveside service will take place on Monday, April 27 at 1pm at Taylor Cemetery. A memorial mass will be planned for a later date.
