Edda Harrington

Edda O. Harrington, 81 of Taylor went to be with the lord on August 1 ^st , 2021.

Edda was born on Saturday, February 24, 1940, in Steinwiesen Germany to Fritz Freidel and Antonie Friedel Franz, where she grew up with one brother, Gerwin Freidel.  After graduating from school, she continued her education with a focus on child psychology and modeled.  She would soon meet and marry her husband, David Harrington, who was a US Army Soldier on August 15, 1959, and together they traveled the world and raised a family.  She was a devoted mom of five children and a server to her community.  She was a person who took great pleasure in helping others without judgment or expectations.  She volunteered and was the president of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Taylor VFW and she also enjoyed working at Topsey Exotic Ranch, helping her family, and caring for the animals.  She loved animals and adopted and fostered many!  Her hobbies included anything outdoors, hiking, going to the lake, camping with her family, and her garden.  She also enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, crocheting and knitting.  She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was motherly to all who knew her, had a heart of gold, and loved and accepted everyone like family, blood relative or not.

She was the greatest mother to her 5 children, an awesome grandmother to 11 grandchildren and the best great grandmother to 12 great grandchildren.

Edda is preceded in death by her parents and husband, and her son, Thomas Harrington, and her grandson Michael A. Harrington.

Edda is survived by her loving Children Mike Harrington, Frank Harrington, Heidi Harrington Beran, and Sandra Harrington Brown, 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and one brother, Gerwin Freidel, and several cousins and nephews.

Services will be held to celebrate Edda’s life on August 9 ^th , 2021, at 11:00, am, at the Providence Taylor Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
