Dorothy Johnson, formally from Hutto, passed peacefully on March 1, 2025. Dorothy was 94.

Dorothy was born on January 2, 1931 in Taylor to August and Clara Decker of Hutto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth. Together they reared 3 children: Jill Swan of Tyler, Daniel of Pearsall, and Dean who resides in Kerrville.

Dorothy has one surviving brother-Kermit- of Bryan, TX. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Delbert.

Shortly after her graduation, Dorothy and Kenneth married and spent the vast majority of their near 50 years together farming in the Hutto area. Dorothy also worked outside their home--at the Williamson County Agriculture office and then at Texas Electric Cooperative office in Austin.

In addition to farming, raising 3 children and Dorothy's career, she served faithfully for many years in many roles at Hutto Lutheran Church.

Dorothy's favorite pastimes included attending her children's sporting events and playing card games and dominoes at every opportunity.

Dorothy leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Friday, March 7 at 10 am.
