Doris Jeanette Carlson

Doris Jeanette Carlson went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was born on February 9, 1933 in Lee County, Texas to William and Pernie Northcott. She graduated from Thorndale High School. She was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall, Texas.

She was a devoted wife and housewife for 61 years.  She supported a farm and ranch family, she enjoyed baking and drinking coffee at all times of the day with her husband.  She enjoyed visits from her family, baking for loved ones, and trips to Coushatta with Ed.

Doris was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Doris leaves behind her son David and his wife Diane, her son Billy and his wife Connie, her daughter Debbie Ging and her husband Steve, her daughter Donna Blomquist and her husband Greg. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Travis Carlson and his wife Nikki, Ashley McAllister and her husband Jacob, Bethany McSorley and her husband Patrick, LeAnn Gola and her husband Matt, Kristen Weigelt and her husband Wade, Kasey Farr and her husband Alan, Kellen Blomquist and his wife Claire, and Chelsea Marrow and her husband Cortland. She was also blessed with sixteen great-grandchildren, Philip and Sean McSorley, Lexi Urbis and Maverick McAllister, Maddie Flores and Raeghan Carlson, Nathan and Dalton Farr, Hadley, Kinsley, and Casen Gola, Zachary and Carter Weigelt, Cooper and Camden Marrow, and Scout Blomquist.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ray Barron and her sister-in-law Betty Ann Polasek. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed Carlson, brother Gene Northcott, sister Barbara Barron, and granddaughter Brennan Carlson. The family would like to extend their thanks to the many friends and family that kept Doris’ spirits up and kept her in their prayers.

Visitation is set for Thursday June 4 th , 2020 from 6 to 8:00 p.m., at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on June 5 th at Providence Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Bielfeldt officiating and burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall, Texas, The American Cancer Society, or one’s choice of organizations.
