Donnie "Tad" Pistole, Jr.

Donnie “Tad” Pistole, Jr., 59, of Thorndale passed away August 26, 2019.

Tad was born on April 5, 1960 to Donnie Pistole and Lora Robbins in Austin. He was given the nickname Tad when he was very young because he was “no bigger than a tadpole”.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  When he was a kid, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and grandfather, Papa Pistole. He also loved football and was a Cowboys fan through and through.  Later, he was married Linda Waechter and they had three girls, Darla, Desi, and Danielle. He loved their girls beyond words. Tad was a genius manual transmission rebuilder. There wasn’t a transmission he couldn’t handle. He owned his own transmission shop in Thorndale for many years before his passing. He enjoyed working on old cars in his spare time. Tad had a garden that he was very proud of and grew a various number of vegetables that he gave away to people.  He had a love for mustangs and his big red F350 dually truck. Tad made a “deal” with God years ago and that Red F350 was his reward. Tad had a sense of humor like no other; he was always one to crack jokes. He had a nickname for every one and a silly story to back them. He was a comedic story teller, and never ran out of stories to tell. Tad will be remembered by all of the love he gave to his friends and family, as well as all of their stories to remember him by.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jeff Davis; and grandchild, Kaylie Joy.

Donnie is survived by his 3 daughters, Danielle Pistole, Darla Waechter, and Desi Pistole; 5 grandchildren, Chelsea, Brian, Katlyn, Faith, and Hope; stepmother, Sue Pistole; 3 siblings, Kathy “Macky” Davis, Randy and wife Melissa Pistole, Shelly Pistole; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 11:00am at Providence Funeral Home.
