Domingo Flores Herrera

March 4, 1945 — December 6, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Domingo Flores Herrera, who left us on December 6, 2024, at the age of 79. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, whose presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Domingo Flores Herrera was born on March 4, 1945, in O'Donnell, Texas, and spent half his life in the West Texas area as a farmer. He then moved to Taylor, where he was a truck driver for a short time. He was employed by the City of Taylor and retired after 20 years of service. He was a man of great integrity, kindness, and wisdom, and his unwavering love for his family was a source of strength for all who knew him. His life was defined by his tireless work ethic, his sense of humor, and his deep commitment to those he loved.

Domingo Flores Herrera was an extraordinary man, providing help to immediate and distant families alike. He was a strong, reliable man who instilled in his children the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. As a grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, offering guidance, support, and an endless supply of love.

In addition to his family, Domingo Flores Herrera was passionate about working on cars. As Dad would say, he enjoyed piddling around outside, helping family and friends, and lending a helping hand to whoever needed it. He was a man who found peace being around his loved ones and ensured his moral values would carry forward for future generations. His memories and lessons will live on in the many lives he has touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Marcelina Herrera; sisters, Francisa Casanova, Hermilinda Herrera, Juanita Garza, and Hiliaria Casares.

He is survived by his wife, Jesusa Cedillo Herrera; his children, Domingo Herrera Jr., Victor Herrera (Isabel), Raymond Herrera (Margie), Juanita Herrera, Juan Herrera, Anita Herrera Badillo (Ernesto), and Jesusa Herrera Lopez (Luis Miguel). Domingo is also survived by his siblings: Marcelino Herrera (Josie), Manuel Herrera (Delfina), Vincent Herrera, Lupe Herrera (Mary Lou), Jessie Herrera (Gloria), Antonia Garcia (Hipolito), Florinda Rosales (Jose), Mary Balderas, and Gloria Pierce (Frank). Domingo is survived by 25 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Providence Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 8:00 p.m.

Though he is no longer with us, the love, lessons, and memories he shared will continue to guide us. We find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.

Rest in peace, Dad. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
