Dennis "Dino" Leon Garcia

July 19, 1967 — April 30, 2018

Dennis Leon Garcia “Dino”, age 50, of Taylor, Texas came to rest on April 30, 2018. He was born on July 19, 1967 in Taylor, Texas.

Dino began his primary education in the Thrall ISD District, as a Thrall Tiger, and graduated from Thrall High School in 1985. He was dedicated to the tiger pride as he participated in the high school band and played football. While Dino enjoyed earning his education, he also prided himself on building friendships and relationships with his classmates. Many of those friendships over the years, became a strong brotherhood. It was very inspiring to watch these friendships grow. His friendliness and infectious smile are what made him a person to remember!

After high school, Dino worked at Hick’s Boot Shop, where then a few years later, he took ownership of the shop. Later he changed its name to D & J Boot Shop and brought in a Co-Partner, his brother, Jack Garcia. He changed career paths after a while and started working and driving commercial vehicles. He enjoyed this work very much!

Once Dino became settled in his career, he became a very proud father to his son, Garrett Garcia. He was his pride and joy! Dino made sure that everyone always knew of Garrett, sharing photos and stories of him growing up. They spent their time taking rides, going fishing, and talking about bringing back the boot shop together. Dino loved his son so much!

Dino was preceded in death by his father, Leon Garcia, brother, Jack Garcia, and his grandparents.

Dino is survived by his mother, Eloise Garcia, his son Garrett Garcia, his stepchildren, Brittany, Maria, Gabbi, and Andrew, his sister, Rosemary Garcia, his sister, Jackie Valdez, his brother-in-law, Cedric Valdez, his nieces, Gabbi Valdez, Nevaeh Valdez, and Tori Valdez, as well as many family members and friends.
