Dellois Carrin Sefcik

Dellois Carrin Becker Sefcik, 81, of Taylor went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 13, 2020 after a daunting battle with dementia.

Dellois was born on September 23, 1938 in Thorndale, Texas to Alfred E. and Minnie (Moerbe) Becker. She graduated valedictorian of the class of 1956 from Thorndale High School. She married Garry Gene Sefcik on March 9, 1958. Dellois brought unconditional love and joy to her family through each circumstance life threw her way. She loved God, family, wine, and chocolate. Those she knew well are likely to remember she would “kill for chocolate”. Her greatest joys in life always called her “Memaw.”

Dellois is preceded in death by her beloved son Jason Clay Sefcik in 1999; sister and brother-in-law Peggy (Becker) and Hugh Caffey Jr. of Thorndale; and brother-in-law Kenneth Sefcik formerly of Taylor.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gene; daughter Tammi Gay (Randy) Stefanowicz of Taylor; and three grandchildren, Luke, John, and Savannah Kaspar.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. A Celebration of Life will also be held at Providence Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00 A.M., with a burial following at Taylor City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of SPJST Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor for their care of Dellois during her stay at the facility. In addition, many thanks go to her extended caregivers, Donna Ladner and Denise Pippin.

In lieu of flowers, donation in Dellois’ name may be made to any Alzheimer’s charity of choice.
